Mr. Rogers' class eats hot-dog "worms" as part of a reading lesson. Yum!

Talk about never giving up! 7th grader Brittany T. has always been athletic. But more than anything, she wanted to play on the Junior Olympics for Volleyball. She tried out twice, sometimes serving perfect games, but still did not make the teams. Her parents kept telling her to not give up, so last week, she tried out for Lake Erie College's Junior Olympic Volley Ball Team and got accepted! Congratulations Brittany, we wish you the best in The Junior Olympics!

Head Notes
The 'pace of change' is picking up! This week, we received our occupancy permit for the new school. Although finishing touches are still needed, the building is essentially complete. The fire marshall has given his stamp of approval, and now we begin the process of placing furnishings and equipment.
The process of installing each piece of technology is lengthy, so our technology wizard, Sally Garza, will be the first staff member besides the maintenance team to report for duty in Sagamore Hills.
The move to two campuses requires some staffing changes, and we have added some fine staff members to assure that every student is well served.
In the Lower School, Lurleen McNair will join us as Technology Coordinator. This non-teaching position will assure that we have a knowledgeable technician to support the expansion of technology in the Lower School. Mrs. Diffenbacher will have an announcement soon about a music teacher to replace Mr. DeLong, who we wish the best of luck in his new adventures.
The Upper School has added John Thompson to our staff. John will teach physical education and coach Middle School basketball. Additionally, Patty Sternad will become an Upper School technology teacher, joining Sally Garza in that department.
Because change can also require loss, we are saying a fond farewell to Rebecca Hamilton who worked for many years at Lawrence, most recently as our Special Events Coordinator. Replacing her will be Jayne Eiben, parent of Theo and Charlie, and we look forward to welcoming her to our staff as well.
