A special congratulations to the students who trained hard to complete the 10k (that's 6.2 miles!). You all did an amazing job and should be very proud!
Also, thank you to the students and staff who helped run the Lawrence water stop. Your enthusiasm was much appreciated, especially so early in the morning!

It’s that busy time of year!
Last week, we celebrated the dedication of our theater at the Upper School to honor Jenifer and Bob Garfield. The evening was shared with many of the Garfield’s dear friends and featured a musical and video review of the working and dreaming which led us to our Upper School. As chairs of the Capital Campaign, the Garfields have been leading the charge to see this school become a reality.
On Sunday, many family members, friends and neighbors visited our Grand Opening celebration. Students led tours and charmed our guests as only they can, and staff members demonstrated the technology and curriculum which set this school apart. Earlier in the day 70 members of our Board of Trustees, staff, parents and students participated on 'Team Lawrence’ as they walked, jogged or ran in the Cleveland Marathon activities.
During the weekend and early this week, we saw students in grades 7-12 depart for their annual class trips. This year, students are visiting Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston and Canada. These trips are carefully designed to expand our students’ exposure to the history and culture they study in the classroom and to underline the curricular themes they have been studying. Of course, we expect them to have fun as well, and to bond with their classmates and teachers as they experience new places and themes together.
We thank all of you who have helped make these - and other - various springtime events so memorable. Have a great long Memorial Day weekend with your family and friends, and enjoy the break!
- Mimi Mayer
