Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Ryan Tucker will visit the Lower School on Tuesday, 10/17 to talk to students about reading, as part of the Book-It program. While we do ask that students refrain from seeking autographs, the Browns will provide a keepsake item for each child to enjoy after the presentation. |

Upper School Campus Update: The new Upper School building is changing and growing by the day! The floor tiling is nearly finished, classrooms are being carpeted, cabinetry installation is complete, the theater floor is being painted, and the Lawrence logo will be inlaid in the foyer floor very soon. We can't wait for you to see it! |

The events and activities surrounding Homecoming Week are growing! Here is a rundown (all events are for Upper School only):
SPIRIT WEEK (Oct 16-20): Monday is "Favorite Sports Team Day," Tuesday is "Country Western Day," Wednesday is "Favorite Hat Day," Thursday is "Decades Day" and Friday is "Lawrence Day." Cost is $10 for the week.
PEP ASSEMBLY (Fri. Oct. 20 at 2 pm): Cheer on our soccer Lions, and participate in faculty vs. student games.
SOCCER GAME (Fri. Oct. 20 at 5:30 at The Fields): Transportation to the game will be provided.
HOMECOMING DANCE (Sat. Oct. 21, 7-11 pm at the Lawrence gym): Students in grades 9-12 are invited; dress is semi-formal and cost is $20 per ticket. This year's theme is Deep Blue Destiny: Under the Sea.

Standardized Testing - High School

Wed. Oct. 18 is Standardized Testing Day for grades 9-12. Freshman will take the EXPLORE, Sophomores will take the PLAN, and Juniors will take the PSAT. There will be no school for seniors on this day. Students in grades 9-11 will dismiss early, between 11 am-1 pm depending on test times. We encourage parents to pick up students at this time; however, community service options will be available for those who need to stay the duration of the day.

Lower School VIP fundraiser a success

Thank you to all the families who participated in the Lower School VIP fundraiser. Thanks to you, we sold over $12,000 and will receive 50% of that profit. This money will help the VIP to support various events and activities throughout the coming year.

As the weather changes, so do your school uniform needs! Log on to www.lawrencevip.org for great deals on recycled uniforms, including sweatshirts and long pants. Please also consider posting your own items, or bring your gently-worn clothing to Tracy Pedaline, and we will post them for you (you receive a tax deduction). Items sell at pennies on the dollar, and all proceeds go to the VIP Association.

Students in grades 7-12 who would like to play basketball must have a physical completed before practice starts on Wed. Nov. 8. Forms were sent home this summer; if you need another form, contact Ron Messer at x2410.
