Soccer
REMINDERS
Congratulations to both the middle school and high school soccer teams for completing their first games of the season. With only a few days of practice, the middle school team tied 0-0 (but dominated the play on the field) while the high school team made a good showing despite their 7-4 loss.

There's still time for middle and high school students to sign up for co-ed Flag Football. This is an intramural league and all abilities are welcome. Games take place at Lawrence on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-4:45 and the cost is $75. See Mr. Deal for more info.

Lower School after-school care survey

Thanks to those parents who responded to our after-school care survey. We will be discussing the viability of the options over the next few months. Any decision to implement new programs will not go into effect until after the Upper School moves in January and we have more room in the current location.
Head Notes
As we move into this busy school year, the Management Team and I have identified four core areas of activity.  We are asking that all staff and volunteer activity support one or more of these critical functions.  The identified areas are:

1) To evaluate, build and support enrollment
2) To expand fund development and complete the
Capital Campaign
3) To strengthen the internal structure and functions of the school and complete a successful transition to a two-campus organization
4) To build and strengthen awareness and relationships within the community and region.

Our move in January will provide both schools with the space they have needed to maximize the programming they offer to our students.  But space is just space until it is brought to life by the people who are living, working and growing within it.  It is up to us to see that we are improving and bringing 'the Lawrence Solution' to other deserving students and families throughout the region.

I hope you will join the school in meeting all its goals this year just as we are working to meet your child's goals and yours.  Over the next few weeks, I will enlarge on each of these core areas and the ways in which I hope you will partner with us this year.  I hope the school year is off to a wonderful start for you and your child and urge you to contact us immediately if there are bumps in the road so that we can work together to assure your child success.
