Grade 6 Students Honored During End-Of-Year Ceremony

It was with mixed emotions that we both congratulated and said goodbye to the 44 members of the Grade 6 Graduating Class on June 2 during a ceremony held in the Lower School gym.

During the event, each students was presented an award or awards to signify areas of excellence displayed during the 2016-17 year. Headlining the list were Alyssa Collier '23 and Taylor Thompson '23 who were presented with specialty awards.

Alyssa was this year's recipient of the Peggy Paul Memorial Award, which is presented annually to a grade 6 student who has repeatedly demonstrated interest, effort, courage and perseverance in the pursuit of education and social maturity.

Taylor was the winner of this year's Nancy Jones Memorial Award, which is awarded to a grade 6 student who has exhibited enthusiasm for writing, by putting forth extra time and effort to achieve his or her personal best during the school year.

Several students also read meaningful letters about what Lawrence School has meant to them. Congratulations future Class of 2023! Enjoy your summer and see you at the Upper School in the fall!
