 | A Club Quarterly newsletter, published four times during the school year, highlights club news, announcements and student accomplishments in extracurricular activities. Lawrence students are involved and active! Over 60% of middle and high school students participate in over 20 clubs and leadership organizations within the school. This does not include students who participate in athletics. Lawrence faculty, staff and administrators work with students after normal school hours to ensure every member of the Lawrence community has the opportunity to explore interests beyond the classroom. |
|  | 2011-12 Extracurricular Activities Allies
Allies provides support and encourages understanding for students who may be LGBTQ or are interested in becoming an ally for students who identify as LGBTQ. Allies will work to convey an attitude of understanding to the school and surrounding community. Club meets Thursdays all 4 quarters. High School Students Only. Students do not need to register to be a member of the Allies Club.

 Art Club  Students will have the opportunity to work on different projects with different medium than the art classes. Students need not be in an art class to participate. Club meets Wednesdays 2nd and 4th quarter. Space is limited to the first 10 students who register. Open to all Upper School students. ART CLUB IS NOW CLOSED, AS IT HAS REACHED ITS MAXIMIUM CAPACITY. |

 Board Game/Chess Club Students will have the opportunity to socialize with other students, while learning the strategy behind chess and other board games. Club meets Thursdays all 4 quarters. Club is open to all Upper School students. |

 Bowling Club Students will have the opportunity to socialize and bowl five times at North Woods Lanes Bowling Alley. Club meets Fridays during 3rd quarter. Club is open to all Upper School students. |

 Cooking Club Students will work together to create dishes and meals under the supervision of Lawrence Faculty. They will gain an understanding of kitchen sanitation and safety, knowledge of basic food preparation, learn how to plan menus and be able to create healthy snacks and meals. Club meets Wednesdays during 2nd and 3rd quarter. High School students only.

 Craft Club Students will have the opportunity to show their artistic side and socialize while making a variety of crafts. Club meets Thursdays all 4 quarters. Club is open to all Upper School students.

 Fishing Club Students will spend three fall Thursdays as well as three spring Thursdays fishing at Fell Lake, located on the Upper School campus. Bring your own poles, lines, and hooks. Bait and snacks are provided. Club is open to all Upper School students.

 Flag Football Boys and girls in all Upper School grade levels are invited to participate in fun, no-contact scrimmages. Club meets Fridays during 1st and 2nd quarters. Club is open to all Upper School students. |

 Frisbee Club Students will learn and play the game of Ultimate Frisbee. Club meets Tuesdays during 4th quarter. Club is open to all Upper School students. |

 Golf Club  Students will have the opportunity to learn and explore the game of golf through instruction at a driving range and a par 3 course. Club meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays during 1st quarter. Golf Club is now complete, but will resume again for the 2012-2013 school year. |

 History Club Students interested in history will be able to take their interest even further through an in-depth study of different historical events and periods. This club will use original documents and abstract topics to further develop the students’ understanding of history. Club meets Wednesdays during 1st, 2nd & 3rd quarter. High School students only. |

 Middle School Choir  Middle School Students will have the opportunity to sing and perform while enjoying musical enrichment and preparing for the annual spring musical and for the high school choir. Club meets Wednesdays 1st and 2nd quarter. Middle School students only. |

 Science Club  Science Club allows students to explore new concepts and expand knowledge in the science realm. Parents provide transportation to various weekend field trips on occasion. Club meets Wednesdays all 4 quarters. High School students only. SCIENCE CLUB IS NOW CLOSED, IT HAS REACHED THE MAXIMIUM CAPACITY.

 Science Fiction Movie Club
Students have an opportunity to view many different movies in the Science Fiction genre and discuss their impact on the world. Club meets Tuesdays all 4 quarters. High School students only. SCIENCE FICTION MOVIE CLUB IS NOW CLOSED. THE CLUB HAS REACHED ITS MAXIMIUM CAPACITY.

 Ski/Snowboarding Club  Students in both the Lower School and Upper School have the opportunity to ski and snowboard at Brandywine Ski Resort once a week after school in the winter months. Club meets on Wednesdsays, start date will be announced in October. |

 Spanish Club  Activities will help students gain a better understanding of the culture and lifestyle of the Spanish speaking world. Club meets Thursdays all 4 quarters. High School students only. |

 Strength and Conditioning Club  Students will have the opportunity to increase their muscular strength, endurance, agility, coordination, and flexibility by participating in various workout routines. Students will learn proper technique and form of exercises, different muscle groups, and have the opportunity to become socially active with other members of the club by working in groups and partners. Students will also have the opportunity to work independently focusing on individual goals. High School students will participate on Tuesdays 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter. Middle School students will participate on Wednesdays 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter.

 Video Game Club  Students will have the opportunity to socialize with their peers as they share and play their favorite video games. Middle School students will participate on Tuedays all 4 quarters. High School students will participate on Wednesdays all 4 quarters. |

 Yearbook Students conceptualize the yearbook theme, take photos, wrote copy, choose designs and have (almost!) full creative control over the Upper School Yearbook.
