Ms. Laura Amato
B.S. St. John's University
What drew me to Lawrence: For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work at a place that made a visible difference in people’s lives. Lawrence is all that and then some. Working here is the perfect opportunity to blend my past experiences with my desire to highlight all the good work Lawrence does.
Why I chose my profession: Growing up, I had notebooks chock-full of stories. Not much has changed since then. I love shining the spotlight on people and making them the star.
Something others don’t know about me: I wrote Rising Above the Madness: Profiles of the Greatest NCAA Basketball Coaches, which was published in 2019.
Spotted off-campus: My husband and I are big-time New York sports fans, so you’ll often find me cheering on the Rangers or questioning the merits of the Yankees’ daily lineup and pitching rotation. When it’s warm enough, I love spending time outside and have been known to read an entire fantasy series in a weekend.
