Why I love my job: It is a privilege to work with students who demonstrate courage and grace as they tackle their school day. I love watching my students as they develop their voices and recognize all that they contribute to my world.
What drew me to Lawrence: While I was teaching the CCP class, I met such phenomenal kids. I loved their curiosity and willingness to be challenged and was grateful when the opportunity came to work here.
Favorite subject to teach: My favorites include Shakespeare, Tell Me A Story, and poetry writing. I’m always moved by students’ courage during the Tell Me A Story activity and I love when the kids discover they are poets.
Best part of the day: Touching base with my colleagues during lunch and our impromptu breakfast talks.
