Ms. Yelitza Nieves-Caraballo
Upper School Teacher
B.A. Baldwin Wallace University
What drew me to Lawrence: I struggled in middle school and high school, learning English as a second language. That challenge helped me sympathize with students who learn differently. I wished to provide others the support I did not find in my teenage years.
Favorite subject to teach: I like to teach Spanish 3 and listen to the ways students analyze works of art that focus on the Hispanic experience.
An accomplishment I’m proud of: I’ve been working at Lawrence for 10 years and have led our students on national and international trips that teach them leadership skills and help build and execute leadership plans.
Spotted off-campus: I enjoy hiking, meditating, thrifting, and styling luxury picnics. Spending time in the Brecksville Metroparks is one of my favorite things to do.
