Grade 6 Transitions
During the second semester of the school year, we begin to prepare our grade 6 students for the transition to grade 7 by implementing Middle School methods into our curriculum. These transitions include grading scales, discussion-based formats, continued use of Google Classroom, discipline policy and more. You will be receiving a detailed list via email. If you have any questions about these new methods or changes, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.
The focus for Wellness Wednesdays for the month of February is "Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs." Students will learn skills for making wise decisions as well as more information about alcohol and drugs based on grade level. Help at home by encouraging your child to make healthy choices in all that they do, and help your child understand what prescription and non-prescription drugs are and the role they play.
Our Lawrence School spirit wear has gotten a re-vamp this year! We now offer an assortment of Lawrence "swag" which includes bedazzled/glitter spirit wear. With the Winter Tailgate around the corner, this new glitz and glam spirit wear would be the perfect outfit choice to cheer on our Lions, and a portion of each sale benefits our school!

Job Shadowing Experience
Calling all Lawrence school families - We need your help! Each year, a portion of our high school students' curriculum involves a job exploratory component allowing them to learn about potential career areas of interest. Beginning in grade 10, sophomores complete a 1-day job shadow experience, juniors complete a 2-day job shadow experience, and seniors must complete a 10-day Senior Project internship as a graduation requirement. As more and more high schools participate in similar programs, it is becoming challenging to secure locations for our students. We are asking for your assistance and feedback if you and/or your place of employment (or other family members or friends) would be able to host our students for their sessions. We would like to cultivate an updated list of potential "employers" that our students could draw from. (Students would follow up directly with you with their specific areas of interest(s), needs, and time frames for their sessions).
If you or anyone at your place of work would be interested in participating, please complete the attached Google Form. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lisa Brogan at 330-908-6826. We thank you in advance for your help and for supporting our students!

There is no deadline to purchase. Payment can be made any day/time, but, if payment is made less than SEVEN days before a Chick-fil-A Day (Tuesday) or a Pizza Day (Thursday), your child may not get their lunch until the following week in order to inform the vendors of changes.
