Mary Foti joined the Lawrence School Board of Trustees as an already-familiar presence in the community after working as Lawrence's Grants Coordinator from 2014-2021. Her proposals to various foundations, corporations, and government agencies helped secure funds for tuition assistance, general operations, capital improvements, classroom needs, and dozens of other projects. Currently, Mary is the Community Engagement Specialist at LifeAct, which provides mental health and suicide prevention education to middle and high school students in Northeast Ohio (including Lawrence).
Her professional background also includes time as a paralegal, Clerk of the South Euclid Municipal Court, and Grants Manager at the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. In 2021, Mary was named an Inaugural Board Member at Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation. She also volunteers for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Trials for Hope, and St. Dominic Church in Shaker Heights. Mary also serves as a Peer Navigator and Community Leader at FORCE, an organization that works to help improve the lives of individuals and families facing hereditary cancer.
Mary earned a B.A. in English Literature from Miami University of Ohio and a General Practice Paralegal Certificate from the Philadelphia Institute of Paralegal Studies. She lives in Chagrin Falls with her husband Anthony and they're proud Lawrence alumni parents of Nicky Foti (Class of 2020).
