When Lan learns her nine-year-old daughter Meimei has dyslexia, she will stop at nothing to help her—including leaving her country behind and venturing to New York City, all without speaking a word of English.
Written and directed by Ann Hu, Confetti is an 85-minute autobiographical exploration of Hu’s personal experiences. While independent films are not subject to the Motion Picture Association’s film rating system, Lawrence administrators believe the film’s content is comparable to that of a PG rating due to some mild language and scenes that include cigarette smoking. Please note parts of the film are spoken in Chinese and feature English subtitles.
Confetti is brought to you by Lawrence School's diversity task force IMPACT. Ruth McLaughlin, school psychologist and IMPACT member, reviewed the film for our community. Click here to read.
