Respect and acceptance for self and others form the foundation of our school.
Lawrence School stands out because of our devotion to serving the whole child. We implement campus-wide social-emotional learning efforts that are equally as important as our academic curriculum. We believe that every student should experience strong, supportive social connections both inside and outside of school and that students learn best when their classrooms are places where they feel safe, challenged, and joyful.
Our consistent, campus-wide behavioral expectations, infusion of mindfulness techniques, and use of research-based programs all support the social-emotional wellness of our students. These programs include: Responsive Classroom, Assertive Discipline, Olweus Bullying Prevention, PEERS, ROX, and PRIDE.
Students receive recognition for Student of the Month, end-of-year Compass Awards, and PAWS (Praising Awesome Work) from faculty and staff for going above and beyond. These can be earned for academic successes as well as socially supporting others.
Overall, we strive as a community to help each and every student grow into a confident, secure individual.
